01 · TRACKS
Three tracks

Three tracks.
One cohort.

Every student takes all three tracks in parallel. The DJ becomes a better producer. The producer becomes a better DJ. Both become better citizens of the scene that hosts them.

01 · TRACK 12 weeks · 48h

The Booth

DJing as a physical craft. Beatmatching by ear, EQing the room, reading a floor, playing 4 hours without cheating. We record every practice and review it together.

  • Turntable + CDJ fundamentals
  • Room EQ & monitoring
  • Long-form set design
  • Booth etiquette & handover
  • Recorded practice reviews
02 · TRACK 12 weeks · 48h

The Machine

Hard-techno production from first kick to pressed vinyl. 909 drum design, modular vs in-the-box, mixdown for the big room, and mastering for both streaming and wax.

  • Kick & percussion design
  • Synthesis · analog & digital
  • Arrangement for the dancefloor
  • Mixdown for club systems
  • Mastering · streaming & vinyl
03 · TRACK 12 weeks · 24h

The Scene

The history, the ethics, the economics. Lineage from Detroit to Birmingham to Berlin to Istanbul. How to be booked, how to be paid, how to be useful to the scene that hosts you.

  • History · Detroit → Istanbul
  • Booking & contracts
  • Press, image, identity
  • Door & crowd economics
  • Ethics of the underground
02 · CURRICULUM
Week by week

12 weeks.

Every week is a theme — studied in the studio in the morning, rehearsed in the booth in the evening, and closed with a shared listening session on Sunday.

01
Orientation
The doctrine of the room. Booth anatomy · soundcheck · how Pashex runs a night, top to bottom.
02
The Booth
Beatmatching by ear. Tempo recognition · phrasing · blending two 32-bar loops until they feel like one.
03
The Machine
The 909 kick. Drum synthesis, layering sub + click, tuning the kick to the room.
04
The Booth
EQing the room. How a floor hears you · cutting before boosting · reading a VU meter while dancing.
05
The Machine
Percussion & groove. Swing, shuffle, polyrhythm. Building a loop that loops without becoming boring.
06
The Scene
Detroit → Berlin → Istanbul. A compressed history of hard techno · the three mothers of the scene.
07
The Booth
Long-form sets. Arc, plateau, payoff. Playing four hours in a way that feels like one hour.
08
The Machine
Synthesis deep-dive. Analog vs in-the-box. FM, wavetable, granular — picking the right tool for the part.
09
The Machine
Arrangement. The 7-minute rule · intro · drop · break · outro without cliché.
10
The Machine
Mixdown & mastering. Mixing for a 2000-cap hall, mastering for streaming and wax in parallel.
11
The Scene
Business of the booth. Fees · contracts · press kits · agents · when to say no.
12
Showcase
The showcase night. Each cohort member plays a 45-minute slot on the 74 Hall system. Recorded, reviewed, released.

No. We accept complete beginners every cohort. What we look for is curiosity, consistency, and respect for the craft. Existing skill is useful — but attitude is the gate.
Tuition is discussed one-on-one with shortlisted candidates. We offer full and partial scholarships to local students and under-represented artists. Apply first — fees come after.
The programme is in-person at 74 Hall, Bakırköy. If you're moving for the cohort, we'll help you with recommendations for housing. We do not run an online version.
A 45-minute showcase slot on the 74 Hall system — recorded, mastered, released on the Pashex Academy channel. Plus a direct line to the Pashex booking team and guest-list to every Pashex night for a year.
We read every application. Strongest candidates are invited to a 20-minute conversation (in person or online). The final cohort is announced four weeks before the start date.
We prefer you take all three. DJing and production reinforce each other, and the Scene track is short by design. If you're a strong case for a single track only, tell us why in your application.
